CRL was delighted to support Young Bristol and its Youth Build programme as part of the 48th Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, helping to bring young people, businesses and communities together to celebrate one of Bristol’s most iconic events.
For more than four decades, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta has been part of the city’s identity. As the birthplace of modern ballooning in Europe, Bristol has a unique connection to the event, which continues to bring people together and celebrate the city’s heritage, culture and community.
As a not-for-profit event that remains free to attend, the Fiesta provides an opportunity for people from Bristol and beyond to experience something truly special.
For CRL, being part of the Fiesta was also an opportunity to support our long-standing relationship with Young Bristol and its Youth Build programme. Through our social value commitments, we are proud to support initiatives that create opportunities for young people, strengthen communities and make a positive difference across the region.
And there was certainly no shortage of memorable moments.
More than 100 hot-air balloons took to the skies above Bristol, creating a spectacular backdrop to the weekend. From the first mass ascent at dawn, as balloons filled the sky above the city, to the much-anticipated Nightglows, the Fiesta provided a series of moments that brought people together.
Following the incredible first mass ascent of the weekend, representatives from around 150 regional businesses also came together for the Business Breakfast. Attendees heard two thought-provoking talks exploring Bristol’s future as a city of opportunity, and the role culture and creativity can play in building a strong and resilient economy.
For CRL, the morning provided an excellent opportunity to connect with charities, businesses and organisations from across the region, while celebrating everything that makes Bristol such a vibrant and forward-thinking city.
Most importantly, it gave us the opportunity to support Young Bristol and the work it does to give young people opportunities beyond the classroom.
We are proud to support initiatives such as Youth Build that bring businesses and communities together, create meaningful opportunities for young people and deliver lasting social value across Bristol and beyond.
