As a Principal Contractor, CRL provides a comprehensive range of inspection, maintenance, refurbishment, and cleaning services for concrete, steel, and masonry structures within the clean and wastewater sectors. Since 1955, we have built an unrivalled reputation and depth of expertise in the care and rehabilitation of critical infrastructure assets, including water towers, reservoirs, filter beds, settlement tanks, contact tanks, distribution chambers, storm tanks, surge vessels, and clarifiers.
Our service offering spans everything from routine cleaning and disinfection through to complex refurbishment and upgrade works. These include roof waterproofing, application of protective coatings, resin injection, overbanding, tank lining, pipework renewal, installation of sampling lines, condition surveys and material testing, removal and reinstatement of overburden, and specialist concrete and masonry repairs, alongside a wide range of associated ancillary works. Each solution is tailored to the operational, technical, and safety requirements of the asset.
Beyond the water sector, CRL operates across a diverse range of infrastructure environments requiring refurbishment of existing assets, including highways, marine, rail, heritage, nuclear and power, and car parks. This multi-sector experience, combined with our international project exposure in Australia, allows us to transfer innovative techniques, materials, and methodologies into the water and wastewater sector. As a result, we deliver optimised, resilient solutions that drive efficiency, enhance asset longevity, and ensure robust technical outcomes for our clients.
CRL currently holds multiple framework agreements with UK Water Companies for refurbishment works to concrete, steel, and masonry structures across both clean and wastewater assets. In addition to our framework commitments, we also support water companies on standalone and specialist projects, providing bespoke solutions through our innovative approach and smarter, low-carbon delivery model.
Our workforce is highly skilled and fully trained to meet the specific demands of the water industry. This includes Confined Space Entry and Rescue, EUSR Water Hygiene, and a comprehensive suite of construction and safety qualifications such as NVQs, CSCS, CPCS, SMSTS, SSSTS, SEATS, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, and relevant product-specific training.
