Our people are our greatest asset, and today we recognise an extraordinary milestone as we say farewell to one of our long-serving employees, Roger Southwell, following an incredible 34 years with CRL.
Roger joined CRL as an improver, beginning his career in the London office before helping to launch our Southwest office alongside Steve Jones in 1999. Through hard work, dedication, and a wealth of practical experience, Roger steadily worked his way through the ranks to become Contracts Manager, a position he held for the last 15 years of his career.
Across more than three decades with the business, Roger played an important role in delivering major projects and supporting the continued growth of CRL. His professionalism, commitment, and hands-on approach earned him the respect of colleagues, clients, and project teams alike.
Beyond his professional contribution, Roger was a hugely valued member of the CRL family. Always a happy presence in the office, his banter, humour, and positive attitude made him someone people genuinely enjoyed working alongside. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him.
As Roger takes early retirement, he is looking forward to spending more time pursuing the hobbies he enjoys most, including travelling, gardening (especially growing vegetables), snooker, and watching football.
