With over 70 years’ experience, CRL deliver cost-effective refurbishment solutions through a flexible, sustainable, and collaborative approach. By extending the service life of existing structures, we consistently earn repeat business, operating as both a Principal Contractor and a specialist subcontractor.
Our work spans a wide range of asset maintenance sectors, including marine jetties, bridges, residential tower blocks, water storage reservoirs, power stations, and wind farms. We offer a fully integrated service, from initial condition surveys through to refurbishment delivery and ongoing asset management, ensuring continuity, quality, and long-term value at every stage.
Founded in 1955 by Ernest Mark and Albert Hill, CRL began as a specialist waterproofing contractor, addressing wartime bomb damage across London. Over the following 15 years, the business evolved rapidly, building a strong reputation as an industry-leading specialist in concrete repair and refurbishment. By 1970, the maintenance and rehabilitation of concrete infrastructure had become CRL’s core focus.
Since then, CRL has continued to grow and diversify. Today, the company is a £65 million multi-disciplined contractor, delivering complex projects across the highways, rail, marine, nuclear, and utilities sectors. With a breadth of technical expertise and a long-standing heritage, CRL is a trusted provider in the repair, protection, and strengthening of critical infrastructure.

"Please can you pass on my thanks to your team that did the repairs at Shaftesbury. I have been to site a few times and the lads on site have been more than helpful. The site was kept clean and tidy throughout the works and the workmanship has also been to a high standard. You can see that they all have pride in their work! I look forward to working with yourselves again in the future."
