Main duties and responsibilities
We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our team in Mitcham, to support the Contracts Management Team in the successful delivery of construction and civil engineering projects by providing technical, operational, quality, planning, and commercial support. The Site Engineer (Level 3) will coordinate site activities, ensure compliance with contractual and quality requirements, and provide leadership and guidance to site personnel and subcontractors.

- Assist the Contracts Management Team with the planning, coordination and delivery of site activities and provide engineering support as required.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with contract documents, specifications, drawings, programmes and company procedures.
- Understand and communicate the scope of works to site personnel and subcontractors.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks (TBTs) and task briefings as required.
- Prepare, update and issue short-term and fortnightly works programmes in line with the contract programme.
- Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Carry out site inspections, setting out, testing and engineering activities as required.
- Ensure quality of workmanship complies with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Manage and maintain the Project Quality Plan, quality assurance records, inspection records and as-built documentation.
- Maintain accurate site measurement records and provide cost and progress information to the Contract Manager and Quantity Surveyor.
- Assist with applications for payment, valuations and commercial reporting.
- Raise and administer Early Warnings and assist with Compensation Event preparation in accordance with NEC contracts.
- Ensure the project is managed in accordance with the relevant form of contract and contractual obligations.
- Complete health, safety, environmental, quality and non-conformance audits and inspections as required.
- Assist in the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Work closely with Health and Safety Advisors and implement corrective actions where required.
- Order and coordinate plant, materials and equipment to support project delivery.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, labour resources and site activities in conjunction with the Site Manager.
- Maintain accurate site records including diaries, labour returns, plant returns and project documentation.
- Attend and contribute to site management, progress and client meetings.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and value improvement.

- BSc Civils Degree or equivalent experience
- CSCS card essential
- Proven history of project completion
- Excellent time management and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal communication
- Good initiative and logical thinking
- Full driving licence essential
