Oldbury Viaduct CRA awareOldbury Viaduct Shortlisted for CRA Award
22nd October 2019
Oldbury Viaduct has been shortlisted for the 2019 CRA Award. This £100m plus project, located between M5 junctions J1 and 2 in Sandwell in the West Midlands is the largest concrete repair project (by value) ever carried out in the UK (and possibly abroad!). The award will be presented by Anton Du Beke (of Strictly Come Dancing fame!) at the Concrete Society Awards evening which will be held at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on Wednesday 20th November.

Elizabeth (or as she prefers to be called 'Lizzie') who has a Masters in Civil Engineering (the third year being completed in France in 2013, which required studying French technical documents and undertaking exams in French - no mean feat!) joined CRL in February 2018 ...

Following the commencement of the new Area 10 Highways England framework, we were provided with a list of mobilisation requirements. One of the most time consuming of all the requirements was the need to achieve Bronze level accreditation with FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme).

RISQS CertificateCRL are now RISQS Certified ...
11th July 2019
CRL recently passed the RISQS and Sentinel audit and are now RISQS approved/accredited. This will now enable clients like Network Rail, Transport for London, passenger and freight operating companies, main infrastructure contractors and many other buying organisations in the management of supply chain risk to engage with CRL with confidence that our policies and procedures are robust and up to date.
M% Oldbury ViaductM5 Oldbury Viaduct Contract Comes to an End
3rd May 2019
May 2019 will see CRL’s involvement in the M5 Oldbury come to an end, with us completing what has been CRL's largest individual contract and the UK’s largest ever concrete repair contract. The project has thrown up a number of challenges, but there have also been a number of highlights too. During the project we have seen a number of new arrivals to the team and we have also been able to promote from within, most notably two of our senior foreman being promoted to Site Manager and one of our senior tradesman moving up a grade to Site Foreman.

CRL were recently audited by Achilles Verify UVDB for its work in the Utilities Sector. The audit took place over two days; day one at Cathite House and day two at the region’s Kensington site in central London ... CRL scored 100% overall and in all separate categories. Well done and thanks to Tony Parsons (Site Manager at Kensington), his team and all others involved in the audit.

Chestefield OfficeChesterfield hold Safety Culture Stand-Down Day
11th February 2019
On Friday, 18th January, CRL Chesterfield and the N.W. Region held their Safety Culture Day at the Chesterfield Football Club, where we hosted around 100 delegates, including our site teams, regional management and supply chain representatives. Following a welcome address by the Regional Director, Dave Burgess, a Team Building exercise was introduced, the challenge being to replicate the Chesterfield Parish Church’s Crooked Spire using straws and marshmallows.
