The M53 Eastham Viaduct is a key motorway structure carrying high-speed traffic over a local road network, forming an essential link within the regional transport infrastructure. As part of a wider programme to replace the vehicle restraint system (VRS), the existing parapet beams required localised concrete repairs due to deterioration. These enabling works were necessary to provide a suitable and durable substrate for the installation of new compliant VRS systems.
